Renovating a building means understanding what is of value, what has stopped working, and how it can once again become a place worth living in.
At CU4 Arquitectura, we have spent over 15 years supporting owners and communities in Valencia and its surroundings to make their buildings safer, more efficient, and more livable spaces.
Not all buildings in need of renovation are aware of it yet. Some owners have spent years noticing things that don't quite work without knowing if it is time to act. Some communities want to do something but don't know where to start. And there are those who already know exactly what they need and are simply looking for a team they can trust. Whatever your starting point, we work with all types of interventions:
Comprehensive
When the building needs everything. We act on the structure, the facade, the installations, and the interior so that the result is coherent from start to finish.
Structural
Two homes sharing a party wall. The challenge lies in gaining privacy and personality within a typology that tends toward uniformity. We solve it through design.
Energy efficiency
Front and rear facades, limited plot depth. Here, the interior distribution and light management are key to ensuring the plot’s dimensions go unnoticed.
Facades
Similar to semi-detached housing but with greater continuity between units. We work on the individualization of space so that each home has its own character.
Whether you are starting from a blank plot or have a house that needs a new life, our team can accompany you throughout the entire process.
For homes with heritage value or structural problems that require a more significant technical intervention. We restore the building while respecting what deserves to be maintained.
We design your home from scratch: complete architectural project, quality specifications, license management, and construction management. The result is a home designed for you, from the foundations up.
When the house exists but no longer fits how you want to live. We redistribute spaces, update installations, renew finishes, and help you choose every detail of the new interior.
We don’t start drawing on the first day. First, we sit down to listen to you.
01. Before starting
What is not seen also matters
A meeting to understand the building, your situation, and what you want to achieve. We guide you on what type of intervention makes sense, what timelines to expect, and what grants may apply. No obligation.
02. Listening
Every building has a story that must be understood
You tell us what has happened, what has been failing for years, and what you want to preserve. Sometimes what seems like a facade problem originates elsewhere. Listening well is the only way to avoid mistakes later.
03. Designing
A solution designed for this building, not just any building
All the technical documentation necessary to apply for the license and for the construction company to execute exactly what we have planned. No ambiguities or surprises during the work.
04. Choosing
Making informed decisions about what is not seen
We accompany you in the selection of construction systems, materials, and finishes. We know what works in renovation, what lasts, and what fits the construction budget. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
05. Managing
Real control during construction
We supervise the execution so that what is built corresponds to what was designed. Technical and economic control at every phase.
Our studio is in Valencia city, but we work throughout the entire area of influence:
Valencia city and metropolitan area — Where most of our activity is concentrated, for both individuals and homeowners’ associations.
Marina Alta (Jávea, Dénia, Moraira, Calpe) — An area with significant built heritage that requires intervention, for both primary and secondary residences.
Rest of the province — We evaluate each case. If the project is a good fit, we will go wherever is needed.
Every building has its own issues, its own history, and its own owner with their own priorities. The process is the same, but what we find inside is always different. That is why the preliminary inspection is not a mere formality; it is the real starting point for everything.
It depends on what lies beneath. A remodel acts on what is visible—the distribution, finishes, and installations. A renovation goes deeper and touches what supports the building or what envelops it. Sometimes you don’t know until you take a close look. If you have doubts, that is exactly the time to call us.
There is no single figure that applies to all cases because no two buildings are in the same condition or have the same objectives. What we can tell you is that before talking about numbers, we need to see what is there. If you fill out the form, we will provide an initial orientation within 24-48 hours.
No, you can ask us without any obligation.
Yes, and in some cases, they are significant. There are regional and state programs for energy renovation and accessibility that can cover a significant part of the budget. We can guide you on which ones apply to your case and assist you with the application process.
No. We handle the project and construction management, and we help you choose the most suitable construction company for your project. During execution, we are present to ensure that what is built is exactly what was designed.
Yes. We have experience with protected buildings and know how to work within the margins that entails. We manage all relations with the relevant authorities so that the procedures do not become an obstacle.
It happens. Especially in older buildings where you don’t always know what is there until you open it up. That is why the preliminary inspection is so important; the better we know the building before starting, the fewer surprises there will be during the work. If something still appears, we evaluate it with you and find the best solution.
Yes. We improve the building envelope, the installations, and the thermal behavior of the building so that it consumes less and its occupants are more comfortable. And if there are grants available for your case, we help you apply for them.
